Schavemaker

In 1967 Henk Schavemaker started his transport company with a second-hand Volvo 385 in his home town Assendelft. At the time, he mainly transported wood and steel.

In 1982 Assendelft was too small to handle the twenty or so trucks, so the company relocated to its current headquarters at the Lijndenweg in Beverwijk. Beverwijk was the first choice because “Hoogovens” (currently TATA) had become Schavemaker’s largest client. The relocation allowed it to provide a faster service.
