London Fire Brigade
The London Fire Brigade is the statutory fire and rescue service for London. It was formed by the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Act 1865, under the leadership of superintendent Eyre Massey Shaw. The LFB is the busiest of all the fire services in the United Kingdom, they have 103 stations with 157 appliances.
London Fire Brigade is busy planning a new, state of the art museum which is due to open in 2023. The museum will be part of LFB’s old headquarters, a beautiful Grade II listed building right on the bank of the Thames! These plans form part of the larger 8 Albert Embankment redevelopment
