Charles Russell

Formed in 1968 by founder Charles Russell as a simple owner driver operation specialising in the agricultural sector, a move into general haulage and international operation followed in due course. The purchase of a Ford D series rigid fitted with a new Hiab 965 crane marked a move into machinery transport and the company quickly developed a reputation for expertise in this area.

Steady expansion resulted in the growth of the customer base and a number of the early clients still use their services to this day, careful investment in modern equipment combined with the ability to build, adapt and modify equipment in-house has given the company an edge for many years.

Now the second generation of the family are managing the operation, although the founder is still heavily involved in many of the special projects undertaken, the company is a renowned expert in machine tool transport, lifting and installation, combined with the movement of large artworks throughout the world.
